Aeration Systems
When water contains radon, iron, manganese, foul odors, or objectionable gases such as Hydrogen Sulfide, an Aeromax Water System is the perfect solution.
The Aeromax system is designed to provide years of trouble-free service using a water treatment method known as aeration. Using the pressure provided by a well pump to spray water into a large tank, gases (such as Radon or Hydrogen Sulfide) are released from the water and escape through vents at the top of the tank. In northern climates, a blower fan will exhaust these gases from that building. In tropical-type climates where water equipment can be installed outdoors, the Aeromax tank will typically naturally vent to the outside air. This process will also increase the dissolved oxygen level of the water. Assuming pH is within an acceptable range, this dissolved oxygen will be able to oxidize lower levels of iron and manganese. The large tank allows the oxidized iron, manganese, and other sediment to settle out at the bottom of the tank.

A second pump (shown above with a jet pump) is then used to create the pressure needed for your plumbing system, working in conjunction with a pressure switch and pressure tank. For higher pressure, GW Pumps’ offers an upgrade of a submersible higher pressure/flow needs on the Aeromax water system.
The Aeromax Water System stands out from the crowd with several features not provided by other aerator systems. These features include.
- Clog-resistant spray nozzles.
- Mercury-free float switch to fill the tank.
- Available with a standard jet pump or upgraded submersible pressure pump.
- The optional low-level mercury-free float switch to protect the pressure pump
- Pumps with replaceable nozzles create higher pressure at lower flows, medium pressure, and medium flows, or lower pressure and higher flows.
- Rodent and bug-resistant screens at each opening.

Over the years, a technology using some of the principles of the Aeromax was developed. The Powaerator system is a single tank Air Oxidation Induction (AIO) type filter system for the reduction of hydrogen sulfide gas and iron. This system may look similar to a water softener, however, the looks are about the only thing that is similar. The Powaerator is an automatic backwashing filter. For the past 3-4 years, our Powerator System is the AIO system on the market that allows for a nightly air draw and weekly backwash. This can save thousands of gallons a month. Over the year 10,000 gallons or more can be wasted by less advanced AIO systems on the market. See the brochure below.
