Lead, Cyst, & PFOA/PFOS Removal From Your Family’s Water With One Efficient System

Water in our area has frequently been positive for lead, cysts, and PFOA/PFOS. These chemicals have been found to exceed the levels set forth by health advisory organizations and may cause health problems.

Eighteen million Americans live in communities where the water systems are in violation of the law. As a matter of fact, the federal agency in charge of making sure those systems are safe not only knows these issues exist, they’ve done little to stop them according to information provided by CNN which cites multiple sources and water experts.

Our goal is not to scare anyone into getting water treatment, however, educating our local community about water quality is a top priority. We’ve worked with many local families to improve their water and to provide peace of mind knowing the water they drink and bathe in is free of harmful contaminants.

Our Solution:

Culligan by GW Pumps provides a unique system, the Culligan Aquasential RO, to successfully remove these chemicals and is installed where the water line enters your home or business. This system has been tested and third-party certified as required by the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation)/ANSI p473 standard for PFOA/PFOS, along with NSF/ANSI 53 standard for the reduction of lead and cyst. The chemicals Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), also known as C8, and Perfluorooctane Sulfonic acid (PFOS) are bio-permanent, resistant to direct oxidation, and do not break down naturally in the environment or the human body. Studies suggest that exposure to these chemicals may lead to cancer. The Aquasential filtration system:
  • Provides real-time feedback on the quality of your water and the health of your tankless RO system
  • Reduces total dissolved solids and particulates in your water by 95%
  • Provides over 600 gallons per day of cleaner, safer drinking water.

About Melbourne FL:
Melbourne is a city in Brevard County, Florida, United States. Melbourne is a principal city of the Palm Bay – Melbourne – Titusville, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1969, the city was expanded by merging with nearby Eau Gallie. Melbourne is located approximately 60 miles (97 km) southeast of Orlando on the Space Coast, along Interstate 95. It is approximately midway between Jacksonville and Miami. Melbourne has two downtown business districts, a result of the merger of Eau Gallie into Melbourne: Eau Gallie Arts District and Historic Downtown Melbourne. The City of Melbourne lies along the Indian River Lagoon, a vast estuary loved by boaters, anglers and those who just enjoy its quiet beauty. On the other side of the river a portion of the city lies on a barrier island with many beach parks offering even more fun in the sun. Melbourne has an international airport and is located next to a major interstate with easy access to Orlando and the attractions, Kennedy Space Center, and points beyond. Sometimes referred to as “The Gateway to Sea & Space”, Melbourne is just south of Cape Canaveral — home to the Kennedy Space Center and Port Canaveral. You can watch launches from almost any point in the city, or take the short drive up to the space center to get close to the action. While up there, you can visit Port Canaveral — an active shipping port with daily departures of cruise ships and deep-sea fishing boats.

Frequently Asked PFAS Questions:

What is PFAS?

PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) are synthetic organofluorine chemical compounds that have multiple fluorine atoms attached to an alkyl chain. They are a group of man-made chemicals that don’t break down and can accumulate over time. There is evidence that exposure to PFAS can lead to adverse human health effects.

What are PFAS chemicals?

Most notably, PFAS chemicals include PFOA, PFOS, & GenX. According to OECD, there are at least 4730 different PFASs.

What are PFAS used for?

PFAS are used for creating stain and water repellent fabrics, nonstick products (e.g., Teflon), polishes, waxes, paints, cleaning products, and fire-fighting foams.

How to filter PFAS out of water?

In general, PFAS resist most conventional chemical treatment technologies employed by local water municipalities. The strongest proven technologies to filter PFAS out of water include granular activated carbon absorption, ion exchange resins, and reverse osmosis.

What does PFAS do to your body?

Exposure to PFAS may result in negative health effects to your body. Some identified by the EPA include:
Developmental effects to fetuses during pregnancy or to breastfed infants
Developmental effects to children
Testicular or kidney cancer
Liver damage
Immune effects (antibody production and immunity)
Thyroid effects
Cholesterol changes

How to test for PFAS?

To test for PFAS, contact your state for a list of laboratories that are certified to test for PFAS using EPA Method 537. To search online for EPA Certified Labs for drinking water testing, go to the EPA’s website.
